The Southern Cross

Nora and Javier have been hired to transport a shipment of cocaine in an ambulance. With the help of Wendy, Javier's transvestite brother, they rob a part of the shipment and escape from the police. Moulded by loneliness, indifference and a lack of communication, Nora, Javier and Wendy are three youths with no future who move on the outer rim of society and are helpless in the face of a corrupt power. They hide in El Marquesado, a seaside resort built by the military on dynamited cliffs where Rodolfo and Mercedes, Javier and Wendy's parents, survive by rustling pigs and cows from neighbouring farms. The conflicts and tensions in this marginal family resurface as they are reunited in this remote place with a sinister past.

The Escape

In the summer of 1928, several inmates from the National Penitentiary in Buenos Aires managed to escape. The film narrates the fate of each of these runaways in search of their destiny - tough men with their own ethical codes and ready to do anything not to return to prison. Some of them will suffer violent deaths, while others manage de disappear. Sordid and moving stories, not excluding tenderness and love, mercy or horror sealed with a pact of prison love that will remain in the heart of Buenos Aires, as witness of the yearned-for freedom.

Remake

Friends get together in a country house and reminisce about the "good old times." Some now have grown-up children who accompany them and life is different... or is it? The story unravels quite well with good dialog and superior acting from the entire cast. The movie is philosophical without being bogged down by the some times heavy content. A very refreshing look at life, getting old, being free and always finding ways to share, appreciate and enjoy.

In Evil Hour

The old servant and chronicler Dom Sabas tells how his desolate South American town is the scene of a ruthless power struggle. The landowning Assis family, reduced to a widow and son, tries to hold out against the young, despotic mayor. Wind with the Gone

Los porfiados

In South America, Artemio, a young knife sharpener, joins a revolutionary movement whose members include Bragueton, an unemployed soldier; Domingo Acevedo, a compulsive gambler; Don Bachetta, a retired anarchist; and Eva, a young French woman with whom Artemio falls madly in love. This small group secretly plans to launch a terrorist attack. Love and friendship sustain the illusion, but passions soon run high in the closed environment of their cohabitation, giving way to the worst of human baseness and proving the ineffectiveness of collective action.

El infinito sin estrellas

It tells of the troubled and difficult relationship between Beatriz, a single mother, and her 11-year-old son Mario. The action takes place in a post-industrial neighborhood of San Martín, where Beatriz tries to earn a living as an embroiderer. When he brings shrouds to his house to embroider, the story gains tension and suspense since, according to Mario, the house is full of the dead.
