In 20th century Paris, a farewell reception is being held after the a millionaire who had founded many enterprises. His will says that his eldest son George will succeed the count with the stipulation that he marry a woman of either blue blood or high society within half a year but Georges dreams of marrying and loving forever a woman destined to cross his path. He feels oppressed by the idea of getting married merely to fulfill his father's will. His friend tells George to go easy, advising him that marriage is one thing and love another. He then leads George to a revue theater he knows well. George, who gets drunk at the theater, remembers his father's advice in the will: Go to church when in distress. He heads for a church. However, on the way to the church, he falls down. At the moment he thinks in fading consciousness that he is freezing to death, he sees an angel.

An anonymous letter is delivered to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. The letter states that a criminal of a murder case will appear at the countdown party Masquerade Night that will be held at Hotel Cortesia Tokyo. Detective Kosuke Nitta must go undercover and work again at the Hotel Cortesia Tokyo. There, he meets Naomi Yamagishi, who works as a concierge. Without any information about the criminal, except that the person will be in attendance, Detective Kosuke Nitta works feverishly to find the criminal among the 500 attendees.

One man, Salvatore Ferri, pulls off a stunning debut at the Florence Men's Suit Collection. "Gran Cielo" tailor's, which he started up and became the most famous in Italy, will be launched in America, he has decided. Gran Cielo suits are said to bring out the appeal of any man who wears them, and they have gained popularity both at home and abroad. Salvatore Ferri has had great success with his new business — selling ready-made suits at low prices to the masses. A crew from a U.S. TV station arrives in Italy to do some reporting for a documentary program on him. Filmmaker Leonard (Lenny) DeLuca annoys the fussy Salvatore Ferri at first, but then comes into contact with his personality, which refuses to tolerate compromise in his job. In short order, the filmmaker starts to take an interest in him.
