The launch of an espionage balloon from an Italian village, located opposite the southern part of the Istrian peninsula, marked the beginning of a most unusual adventure for aviation officer Giuseppe Rosignoli. The decision to go on a reconnaissance mission over the heavily fortified Austro-Hungarian military zone of Pula was made several months before the Kingdom of Italy entered World War I in 1915.
Rosa and Igor live under the same roof, without trespassing on each other's territory even thou they have been living together for years. Things that happened divided them - things that came about brought them back together.
The film follows a boat carrying migrants from various African countries through the Mediterranean sea to Italy. When the boat loses orientation and goes off course, things turn violent as the migrants blame the smugglers. After finally making it to shore, the desperate passengers try to evade police and a few manage to get away.
Nature, civilzation and humanity all start to crumble and vanish in the wake of a major ecological disaster.
