Dance of Good and Evil

The Swing of the Coffin Maker

Whenever being confronted with the clumsiness of his son he often reacts indignantly – with beating. When Musa is diagnosed with a deadly illness, the emotional numbing of the father slowly dissolves as he tries to make the last days of his son as enjoyable as possible – until Sabir delivers a surprising message.

End of Season

A small family in Azerbaijan is on the brink of running its course. Son Machmud feverishly seeks a home of his own; mother Fidan wants her life back after years of service to the family; father Samir just wants to be left alone. Three free spirits orbiting each other, ignoring the annoyances as much as possible. However, a dramatic incident during a trip to the beach painfully highlights the hairline fractures in their existence.

My Dear Fellini

A Man of the Third Day

The film tells the story of a man, who was in prison when the invaders occupied his native land. When he gets out from prison, he tries to find ways to visit his parents’ graves, which are located on the occupied lands now.

Baku, I Love You

The film anthology includes 10 short films: "Asia", "Meeting", "Artist", "Yard", "Bahram Gur", "Lottery ticket", "Caspian Atlantis", "About love", "Aysel" and "Coincidence". Each screenplay in the project reflects different moments in the life of Baku. Short films bring to life relationships between people, their love and longing, happy and sad moments. The main hero uniting these people, relations and different moments of life is the city of Baku.

Taghiyev: The Tsar

In the autumn of 1888, Baku is preparing for the visit of His Majesty Alexander III. Millionaire and member of the Baku City Duma, Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev, is fighting for influence and status in society. The city mayor, Orlovsky, taking advantage of his position, seeks to seize the oil field of Teymurbekov, who has committed suicide. Meanwhile, Ismail, the eldest son of Haji, meets General’s daughter, Nurjahan Arablinskaya, and intends to marry her.

The Naked

The hero, who wants to volunteer to help with his neighbor's funeral, is unexpectedly confronted with the most shocking truth of his life - the deceased is his close relative. During the days he spends in cemeteries, the hero meets various people, witnesses their painful and touching stories. These acquaintances change his worldview, but at the same time they drag him into an increasingly hopeless situation.

Ararat

Zeynep has caused a traffic accident in Berlin. She escapes to her parents’ home in Turkey where her self-destructive and sexually assertive behaviour infuriates more than just her family. Looming above them like a portent is the dormant volcano Ararat.

Apathy 2

The main character of the film, Akif, escapes from an orphanage to find his mother. On this painful journey, with an uncertain ending, the protagonist faces numerous challenges. The swift intervention of a prosecutor’s office employee raises many questions for the audience about the essence of life. Apathy-2 delivers a powerful "slap" to the mentality of bringing children into this world thoughtlessly.

I'm here, God!

A veteran wounded in the war, wakes up from a three-month coma and learns that his mother has passed away and that his daughter has been placed in a boarding school. Later, she tries to put her life in order so that she can have her child. The film, which tells about his struggle to get his daughter back, focuses more on the scars of war on human psychology and the struggle of people who have left the war to live than on the heavy battle scenes.

Black & White Nights

A classic and at the same time unrealistic and phantasmagoric love story with betrayal and hatred. A woman's ruthless hatred of her husband suddenly starts to surface in the programs of the TV channel she has co-founded with her husband.

Dead End

"Dalan" is a film that tells about dead-end life situations that anyone can get into. In the film, several intertwined stories are built around the main plot line - the betrayal of a young wife to her despotic husband.

The 40th Parallel

The anthology consists of 4 short feature films: "Postscriptum", "His Father", "The Gift" and "The Black Garden".

Manqurt

The story of the suffering of a boy who is put on a sheepskin coat and gradually becomes a man-eater.

Ayaqqabı əməliyyatı

Shoemaker Gadir is known among the people for his stubbornness. His friend's son, businessman Amrulla, convinces all the shops in the area except Gadir's shoe shop to sell. Realizing that he will not be able to convince Tars Gadir, he plays a trick on him. One day, he offers him a job and gives him money as an advance. Gadir, who wants to send his daughter to a festival in Baku and needs money, has to accept Amrulla's offer and pawns his shop. As a result, the job is not done and Gadir loses his shop.

The Key

Umid, the internally displaced person (IDP) due to War, loses the set of keys belonging to his house which is currently under occupation. The keys represent the last hope to come back to his house, so Umid still hopes he will be back one day but the accident bears a strong symbolic meaning to him. He interprets it as losing the last hope.

The film is based on Jafar Jabbarli's play "Aydin".
