He challenges the old winner, whose job in a garage puts him on the opposite end ofthe career ladder. The match is a battle fought between two men who stand for two different attitudes to life. The confrontation results in the revelation that the winner is not always the one whose arm is raised by the referee after the last round.

The drama called I Love, You Love was made in 1980 but because of the absurd ideological ban, the film entered cinemas nine years later. Pišta is an unmarried man who works at a freight wagon which carries letters and parcels. Alcohol helps him to overcome his handicap of being short and not good-looking. He wishes he had a woman, but the woman he really wants, ageing Viera who reloads the cargoes, has a soft spot for another man. So, Pišta has nobody and nothing, except for senile mother who sometimes fails to recognize him. The film received Silver Bear for Best Director at the International Film Festival in Berlin.

One day, however, in return for a promised favor, he confesses to the embezzlement of three thousand crowns, which his womanizing boss "borrowed" from the treasury. When forty thousand disappears from his table, Jožko Púčik is automatically considered a thief and ends up in custody. The man passively accepts his fate because he believes in justice. Moreover, charitable associations begin to get ahead of themselves in paying support for him and his poor sister. However, the existing accusations are also added to the accusation of murdering the janitor. Jožko has a lot to do to convince the investigating judge that he is an honest man. However, as it turns out, this is the worst thing Púčik could have done...

The doctor concludes that it was a heart attack. However, the exhumation of the corpse confirms the suspicion that Burian was poisoned. The auditor's young wife and her lover are the primary suspects. Other candidates for the role of the perpetrator include the manager of the café Orlovský, who asked Burian to destroy the falsified statements in exchange for a bribe, and the managers of two stores where the shortage was discovered. However, the network of suspects continues to expand...

A group of drivers paid according to their performance are struggling with hard work in a large quarry, somewhere where foxes say good night. A new worker, Marek Orban, joins the team of foreman Peter Hotka, known as Maco. Deep down, he is a deeply moral person, although he was given a suspended sentence for bodily harm. He beat up his wife's lover, to whom he must also pay compensation. Marek hides this from the other members of the group because he is ashamed. Maco, out of friendship with Marko, attributes non-existent trucks to the group, which, of course, backfires. However, the team eventually shows its strength and works off the undeserved reward.

His attending physician, Hungertobel, recognises in the photograph Dr Emmenberg, a former colleague from school, who bears a striking resemblance to the aforementioned Nehle. The Commissioner therefore decides to launch an investigation into his latest case.
Dark satire about bare-knuckled capitalism in the immediate post-Cold War era. Set just as the Communist government is collapsing, the film focuses on the brutish Racz, the handyman in a Bratislava hotel. Knowing that his job is insured for life, Racz turns off the building's heat and demands food, money, and sex to have it restored. The film is narrated by a pimp named Urban who explains that people in the former Czechoslovakia were so used to being abused that they simply put up with Racz's corruption. By the end of the film, Racz's fortunes have changed considerably. Instead of being a lowly worker, he is now a ruthless and wealthy businessman, unafraid to kill or kidnap those who get in his way.

At the beginning was the Slovak television series Lekár umierajúceho czasu (Doctor of Dying Time), dedicated to the Rudolphine-era scientist Jan Jesenius. He ended up on the scaffold along with other gentlemen after losing the anti-Habsburg uprising. When director Miloslav Luther conceived the idea of making an abridged version of the footage for cinema, he had to not only rebuild the storyline but also dub it into Czech. However, the result was only an illustrative puzzle, describing the various stages of the hero's turbulent life.

She bears a striking resemblance to Herbert's dead wife. They get married, but their relationship seems doomed, until gradually each one manages to penetrate the mysterious world of the other, and they begin to realize that they are bound by a kind of spiritual relationship. For Lea it is the death of her mother, for Herbert it is the death of his first wife. His hard exterior slowly beings to thaw, and he starts to show feelings and responses that soften Lea's initial hatred and fear of him, and which put their relationship in a more positive light.
