National-Socialist propaganda film that serves to memorialize one of the early representatives of colonialism: the German philologist Carl Peters. He is, at the end of the 1900′s, a noted advocate of the establishment of a German colony. Without support from Germany, he struggles on his own account against the English in East Africa. Later he is named Reichskommissar and promotes the expansion of a German colony. But Jewish and Social-Democrat opponents order him back to Germany and force him to resign.

Covered Tracks

Séraphine and her mother arrive in Paris to visit the 1867 World Exhibition. In an overcrowded city they must be accommodated in separate hotels. During the night the mother, who wasn't feeling very well, gets suddenly worse. When next morning Séraphine goes to meet her every trace of her presence has disappeared and everybody denies having ever met her. The bewildered young woman must find someone who believes her. Majub's Journey

The essayistic documentary MAJUB’S JOURNEY tells the story of an African man who lived in Nazi Germany during the 1930s and worked as an extra in the movie industry. He was born in the German colony Deutsch-Ostafrika and became a soldier for the Germans during World War I – when he was only nine years old. After the Germans lost the war, they failed to hand him his military pay. About a decade later he decides to travel to Germany and personally collect his outstanding money. This film tells his story – his childhood in the colony and his life and in Nazi Germany – including the holes that the archive leaves open.

Herbert is no big help to Fritz because he's reclusive and an alcoholic. Herbert Miller, the farm's administrator, is overheard in a bar telling someone that he recently split up with his girlfriend Marianne back in Hamburg. In Hamburg, Marianne Carsten has gotten engaged to Kurt von Kollinghausen. She soon realizes, however, that the arrogant Kurt isn't the man for her and she now wants Herbert back. Her father understands and wants to send her off to Cameroon. While Marianne flies to Cameroon, Herbert takes the ship back to Hamburg because he's going to sell his brother's cocoa crop in Germany.
