Cazibe is a woman in her late thirties, who has never got married or had a relationship with a man in her life. She lives with her old mother and her uncle who feels an attraction towards her. The lonely woman, whose only existence is her small room, spends all her time in this old room, dreaming and fantasising about her ex-lover.

Ev Kira Semt Bizim

A group of friends who grew up in the same neighborhood find it difficult to live where they were born and raised due to rising rents caused by the interest of wealthy people in their neighborhood. After all of their neighbors are forced to leave the neighborhood one by one, the final straw comes when Latif, one of the most beloved residents of the neighborhood, is evicted from his home by his landlord. Determined to transform their neighborhood back into a place where working-class people and ordinary folks could live, the residents rolled up their sleeves to stop the destruction of both their neighborhood and their past. What initially seemed like an easy plan ended up dragging them into an unexpected and hilarious adventure.

Take the Road

Samet, who works as a bouncer in a bar, left home after his father abandoned the family years ago. His mother started living with his brother Emre. After a long time, Samet returns home and tells his brother Emre that he has found their father’s whereabouts and suggests they go together to where their father lives. The two brothers embark on a journey to Konya to confront their past. The other protagonist of the story, Ayşe, leads an ordinary life with her banker husband and seven-year-old daughter Ceren. When her daughter starts school, her encounter with the school’s security guard changes their lives. A secret relationship begins between the two. While Ayşe continues this relationship without fear of being caught, things eventually change. The paths of the two protagonists, Samet and Ayşe, will intersect in an unexpected way.

A triptych of literary adaptations explores past, present and future in rural Turkey. “Düne Özlem” (from Hulki Aktunç’s Bir Yergöstericinin Hayatı): A once-famed traveling critic returns after years to the cinema that launched his career—and finds it unrecognizably transformed. “Bugüne Özlem” (from Kemal Tahir’s Arabacı): A horse-drawn cart driver picks up two stranger women en route to a village—unaware they intend to marry him off to their spinster relative. “Yarına Özlem” (from Zeyyat Selimoğlu’s Bıldırcınlar): An old captain haunted by a fatal shipwreck readies quail-hunting with his grandson, even as his daughter-in-law waits in vain for her migrant husband to return from Germany. Each segment poignantly probes longing— for what was, what is, and what might yet come.
