It Remains

Stand Up Story

From a young age, Mancer had always known that his father Wah is different from other adults; he speaks illogically, he has slow comprehension and he’s quite easily deceived. After growing up, Mancer finally understood that Wah is intellectually disabled. After his mother ran away from home, Mancer was forced to become his father’s primary caregiver. By chance, Mancer joins a stand-up comedy competition for the prize money and becomes instantly hooked. He’s addicted to the joy he feels from making people laugh. However, after the competition, Mancer couldn’t make people laugh again. While searching for inspiration, Mancer realizes that his best jokes seem to come from his hardships – the ridicule he received at school, his difficulties at work, his struggles in caring for his father, and even the worldwide pandemic. Perhaps misery can also be the best source of comedy after all.

The Goldfinger

In 1970s Hong Kong, the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) was formed to bring down the corruption syndicate led by British government officials. One of its top investigators is Senior Investigator Lau Kai-Yuen, who brought down countless corrupted officials. Just as he thought stability and prosperity are within reach, a new era of greed and riches takes him into a new battlefield of corruption.

One Night at School

The movie “One Night at School” describes three groups of totally irrelevant people who accidentally encounter in an abandon school one night. One group includes five beauties who go there for a livestreaming programme. They are forced to make a low cost but highly attractive programme and the abandon school seems a perfect setting. Several people from a criminal gang are also in the school at that night to carry out some revenge action. After searching in the city, the gang decides that the abandon school is suitable. The last group comprises two guys who have stolen the dead body of a Singaporean rich man. The body is stored in the abandoned school where the two guys go to check every day. They plan to extort a large sum of virtual currency from the rich man’s family. By taking care of their own matter at the same place at the same time, the three groups unintentionally intertwine and the adventure unfolds.

Good Game

Tai is the middle-aged owner of an Internet cafe, but unfortunately, it’s not doing so well. It’s mostly empty, especially because, as his landlord points out, kids play games on their phones nowadays. He decides to participate in the Hong Kong One Shot Esports tournament and hopefully win the grand-prize money to save his business. To qualify, he needs to be part of a team, so he recruits Solo, a recently fired esports player facing a decline in his career; Fay, who started working at Tai’s Internet cafe after not lasting long at her previous jobs; and former movie star Octo, who plays games with his elderly wife to help her exercise her brain and fight the degeneration process. Together, they call themselves Happy Hour, and they’ll combine their strengths in gaming to win this fierce competition. It ain’t over till it’s game over!

The Way We Keep Dancing

The Kowloon Industrial District is home to many of Hong Kong’s artists, including rapper Heyo, YouTuber Alan, rising star Hana, and dancer. However, the government is preparing the area for gentrification. The group from ‘The Way We Dance’ were invited to participate in a publicity stunt to transform the district into a ‘Dance Street’. Alan points out that this is an opportunity to garner support from the public. Meanwhile, Heyo’s master Afuc is planning a revolution.

Ciao UFO

No one else could prove or explain the odd phenomenon, but it becomes the pivotal event for three young people in this long-awaited return to form for director Patrick Leung (La Brassiere, Simply Actors). This charming sci-fi comedy also marks the reunion of Tsui Tien-you, Wong Younam and Charlene Choi, who co-starred in 2002 teen comedy hit Summer Breeze of Love.

The Code

A short film with dialogue for Eason Chan's Cantonese single "The Code" 盲婚哑嫁 (also included in most recent album "Chin Up") which was produced as an extended backstory for the music video. Starring Eason Chan himself as a passionate portrait photographer whose wife (played by Cecilia Choi) has passed away. During his grieving process, he oddly encounters the lives of another young couple with a tragic yet optimistic romance tale.
