So the stage is set for lots of fun and games, in the right old style.

Honor, morality and the "right" outlook on life are paramount. And these concepts were by no means something to be made fun of, which can be somewhat annoying when you remember that this film is based on the English play "Bank Holiday", which took a good English fart on virtues and morality. Inger Holst is a nursing student who, at a party, meets the unreal Jørgen Frandsen, who invites her to a "festive night" one weekend at a hotel in Tisvilde. However, a tragic incident occurs at the hospital where she works. The incident involves the young widower, engineer Berg, whom she has come to know as a fine, real and sympathetic person. Inger's compassion makes her offer to give up her weekend trip and stay with him.
It cannot be said that the two actors Kurt Karlsen and Valdemar Hansen are particularly successful. The audience often has to ask them to stop, and financially things are not going well either, so they have to flee from their hotel bills. In a provincial town, Professor Andersen has just died, and when the two actors arrive in town at the same time, they are mistaken for the professor and his assistant and are given accommodation at one of the town's hotels as guests of honor. Then events take a turn for the worse. A bank director, a lawyer, and a contractor are very eager to see the late professor's invention continued, as the formula was lost when the professor died. Who will win in the end? The suspicious businessmen, the two actors, or two young people who love each other? And how many times will bank assistant Johansen lose his job?

The boy Kim moves with his family from the countryside to a ghetto in a big city. He does not do too well in school, and that makes him an easy victim for the hard core bullies in the new school. When the group leader is moved to a private school, Kim is accepted in the gang - as long as he provides cigarettes for the other members. This of course leads to a confrontation with the school teachers, his family and eventually the gang members.
Farcial action fun with Bertil and Hugo, who do menial jobs at a big city hotel. Bertil is about to marry and has put money aside for his bride's morning gift. This is a film about the stuff dreams are made of, yet, there is nothing elevated in this concept, on the contrary. The characters around the bar Strudsen (the ostrich) are doing what ostriches do, hiding themselves from the threats of life and keeping their dreams to themselves. Scriptwriter Benny Andersen being a poet is rendering a loving portrait of a number of persons, who fail to try to make their dreams come true, possibly not being sufficiently dissatisfied with their life after all. The manager would like a bar of his own but dare not admit to it, the butcher would like to be an opera singer, the window cleaner (sorry, window polisher) is secretly in love with the bar lady, but dare not show it and the pianist willingly listens to all the different dreams being presented to him. This film was the best accomplished movie from Henning Carlsen since his debut with 'Sult'.
Per is a traveling man who makes a living setting up new campsites—financed by a rather clueless telephone company and a gawking power plant.
