Marie Lemaire is poisoned during a dinner that brings together an association of merchants. She is the heiress of her recently deceased husband, François, who was the owner of the largest glass factory in the city. All the guests are potential suspects and the investigators must sort out the real from the fake, detect motives and verify alibis. Olivia Rousseau, one of the guests, ex-mistress of François Lemaire who left her to marry Marie, is dead at her home. In a letter, she declared that she had poisoned Marie and killed herself in the same way.

The Other Dumas

Alexandre Dumas, at the height of his career, takes Auguste Maquet, his chief literary collaborator or 'ghost writer' ten years his junior, to meet a young unknown admirer, Charlotte Desrives. The two men are at the summit of their artistic collaboration for they have just published "The Count of Monte Christo", "Queen Margot" and "The Three Musketeers". If it's Maquet who writes the majority of the texts, both the honours and fame go to Dumas.

Loonies at Large

This comedy brings Pierre Richard and Michel Piccoli together onscreen once again. In the story, former professor Henri Toussaint Piccoli has been locked away in a psychiatric ward for some years for trying to strangle his wife when he found her in bed with another man. Now she has a terminal illness, and wants some sort of reconciliation with him. His therapist (Richard) decides to permit him to visit with her, provided he comes along. Except for his wide mood swings and occasional outbursts of lewd muttering, the professor "passes" for sane fairly easily. Not so the psychotic (Dominique Pinon) who stows away in the psychiatrist's car, who constantly calls attention to the other two.
